Ngarbuh Massacre constitutes war crimes and crimes against humanity. Why UN most urgently intervene to solve Anglophone problem in Cameroon.

3 min read

When acts of war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide etc. are normalized and the world is silent about it, strengthened are the perpetrators. In the modern ages I am astonished that these atrocities are committed with no one talking about it. When I say no one, I mean the United Nations Security Council and the United Nations in general. I am wondering, are we a lesser being that the United Nations Security Council Resolution cannot be used to stop the ongoing war in the English Speaking Regions of Cameroon? The more than 3000 people killed aren’t enough for the United Nations Security Council to come to our aid? Or the more than 200 villages burnt are not enough for the world to speak about us? Is the increasing Humanitarian crisis not enough to warrant international community knows that the crucial matter is for the problem to be solved? Should we just undermined more than half a million civilian population forcefully displaced both internally and externally?

The recent killings, burning or butchering of at least 30 members of the civilian population in Ngarbuh, Donga Mantung in the Northwest Region of Cameroon allegedly by members of state security forces is a gross violation of human rights and the rule of law. These acts amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity as per Rome Statute Acts of 17 July 1998 in its article 7 and 8. Including pregnant women and children, the killings and destruction of properties constitutes one of the most grievous human rights violation in the 21st Century particularly in Cameroon

All of us are helping in one way or the other in line with humanitarian response and advocacy, but this is the time for competent international authorities to start talking of the way forward. This is because “Failing to solve the Anglophone problem in Cameroon today with the used of international instrument is preparing for another war in the nearest future. We wish not bad to befall us but we are just cautious of the bad that may befall us if this problem is not justly solved starting from the root causes.  The United Nations should be aware, the Cameroon government should also be aware that there is hatred growing among the civilian population based on political or cultural background. And there be vengeance in the nearest future. Let us prevent this by solving the Anglophone problem.

We are suffering in the Anglophone Regions of Cameroon and we need an international mechanism to solve the problem because all national mechanisms have been fabricated, tested and used but the problem still remain and the war keep on escalating every day. We need the United Nations Security Council Resolution to solve the problem.

“The gruesome murder of 27 civilians including women and children by the State Defense Forces on 14 February 2020 in Ngarbuh, Donga Mantung Division of the North West Region in Cameroon must be investigated and the perpetrators of such egregious crimes brought to justice” Barrister Agbor Nkongho aka Bala, the founder of the Centre for Human Rights and Democracy in Africa said

  1. Why UN not solving the issue of killings of men, women, and children of the Rohingyahs? Or the killing in Egypt or Lybia or the turko-Syrian case?
A genocide is a well defined concept that leaves no room for personalised interpretation s.
In the others 9 regions of Cameroon, departed English speaking Cameroonians have found a warmly , brotherly and maternal abodes amidst French speaking Cameroonians and reports of any zenophoebian act against them had been so far reported.

Alba boys kidnapped and robbed a 1st Division team yesterday,in their entryng bamenda for an encounter with the local PWD. What don’t you talk about this?
Or the killings and beheadings of human beings as animals, do you mention it?
HRW uses satellites monitoring only to see the regalia army massacre people, and never to see arms and ammunition been supplied to fighters , not even when they kill and beheadings the people they pretend to fight for.
