And the Fako Mountain breaths Justice and Freedom at last!!! the Cameroons
3 min readHouses paint with bullets wounds and surrounded by bushes and silence
My hearts gripped with fear as I walk the Buea-Muyuka Boulevard
The memories of war befall my hearts and I began to wonder
Where must have these people gone to? My heart paused to wonder and my mind reads
“Some have long died with their children and even the unborn” “some families have been wiped out of the earth surface by children of other families” “some families have fled to strange lands” “believing the sick and the disabled must be leaving inside some of these houses with no medical attention or care”
My heart triggered again and my blood bleed in the spiritual realm and I fought in vengeance until the souls of the long-gone began to sing freedom at last!!! Freedom at last!!!
Then I remember I am only a mere mortal when the car gallops
Muyuka town reminds me of the blood flow and agony both physical and psychological my people are going through when I saw a gun not steering bare beasts but beings. My heart paused and my mind reads
“Was this gun made to protect mankind or to kill?” “Was this gun made to fight for justice or injustice” “do these people really value our lives?”
In the spiritual realm with sorrowful voices from afar shouting freedom at last!!! Freedom at last!!! With strength from brothers and sisters who have long gone, I disappeared the guns from the owner’s hands
With broken hearts going close to them, they said “go and tell others to leave the valleys of self-interest and greed and climb the mountains of Fako and walked into the hinterlands where there is freedom and justice for all, not with guns but with words of justice and peace”
No matter how many souls have gone, the future generation, at last, will see the promised land of freedom and justice not with guns but with words. Human rights will be respected and democracy will be the foundation of every institution and not autocracy.
I pray for justice and peace to return simultaneously, I pray for the suffering masses, I pray that our leaders should show love to us by allowing justice and peace to reign supreme in this difficult moments, I pray that our problems should be deciphered in the table of justice and peace contrary to injustice and violence, I pray that the ongoing killings of our youths by our youths themselves should stop and we reason with human feelings again like humans,
All will be well and well if we think of the future generations. Then they shall praise us if we attain justice today for them, our brothers and sisters to come in future will sing in one voice and in the spirit of remembrance as our traditions stand, they shall praise us, they shall rejoice in freedom, your children shall live in the land of justice and peace and freedom at last!!! Freedom at last!!! Will be sing by future generation and we rejoice in the spiritual realm six feet beneath the earth our breath shall nurture the culture of justice and peace
