Cameroon: A journalist, Fame Buhnyui kidnaped for ransom by unknown persons
1 min readOn 12 March 2021, unknown persons reportedly kidnapped Fame Buhnyui, a journalist with Cameroon Radio and Television in her residence in Buea, the South West Region,.
The kidnapped is coming at a time when the ongoing armed conflict in the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon has been witnessed series of abduction, torture, illegal arrest and detention of journalists.
The reasons for her kidnapped remains unknown to the public. Though it has become a new normal when it comes to attacking Cameroonian Press from both the State and Nonstate actors. Many have taken to social media to demand the release of Fame Buhnyui.
The HRLRC joins the communications community to call for her immediate release.
