Germany is devoted to ensuring access to justice for victims of the ongoing armed conflict in the Anglophone Regions and ready to engage in a sustainable resolution to the conflict. German Ambassador to Cameroon, Her Excellency Dr Corinna Fricke said during her visit to CHRDA

Germany is one of the three former colonial masters who administered Cameroon. Cameroon was administered by Germany from 1884 till 1919 after the first world war. There can be a peaceful resolution to the ongoing armed conflict in the English Speaking regions of Cameroon if Germany is actively involved in the process. It is worthy to note that, the capital of Cameroon under the German administration was Buea and which was equally the political capital of British Southern Cameroons.
In a working visit to the Centre for Huma Rights and Democracy in Africa (CHRDA), the German Ambassador to Cameroon and CHRDA amongst others focused their discussions on children’s right to education, access to justice, prevention of violent extremism and combating hate speech.
On his Facebook page, the president of CHRDA Barr. Agbor Balla said “Today I had a meeting with German Ambassador to Cameroon Her Excellency Dr Corinna Fricke. During the meeting, we discussed amongst others access to justice for crisis victims, the respect for human rights and ensuring that a sustainable solution is reached to end the crisis. We equally discussed about children’s right to education, the prevention of violent extremism and combating hate speech in a social media age.”
CHRDA reported on their Facebook page “Germany is committed to ensuring access to justice for crisis victims, the respect for human rights and that the Geneva Convention on the rules of war are fully respected within the context of the ongoing armed conflict in the Anglophone regions, while also ensuring that a sustainable solution is reached with the help of the International Community. The German Ambassador to Cameroon, Her Excellency Corinna Fricke renews these commitments during a working visit to CHRDA on 26 March 2021. She also said the Federal Republic of Germany is much concerned about children’s right to education, the prevention of violent extremism and combating hate speech in a social media age…The president of CHRDA Bar Felix Agbor Nkongho expressed with satisfaction the productive relationship between the German Embassy and CHRDA and said the relationship between the German Embassy and Cameroon can be more meaningful through a strengthened civil society which CHRDA is working to ensure.”
