Anglophone crisis in Cameroon: Key points of the Southern Cameroon Toronto Declaration

Following the leadership retreat convened in Toronto-Canada between 29 October to 1 November 2021, which saw diverse Delegates representing more than 30 key Southern Cameroonian frontline and civil society organizations, the organisers have published a declaration in that regard.
The High-Level Leadership Retreat was organised by The Coalition For Dialogue And Negotiations (CDN) and in their Declaration, they acknowledge and condemned crimes that have been committed in the Anglophone Regions of Cameroon.
The declaration also highlights the historical background of Southern Cameroons dating back to the colonisation of Cameroon by Germany, Britain and France and the development in the form of states.
In their declaration, the organisers and stakeholders, comprising of pro separatists, federalists and civil Society organisations from home and abroad, have expressed the willingness to see the armed conflicts come to an end.
Also, in the Declaration, their focus was tilted towards ensuring that there is collaboration, the need for education, negotiations and Mediation. the declaration also took into consideration those who have been forcefully displaced and those are seeking asylum in other countries
