Cameroon: Some members of the MRC opposition political party sentenced to at most 7 years imprisonment

Today 27 December 2021, the Military Tribunal in Yaounde, the Centre Region of Cameroon sentenced some members of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement who were accused of attempted insurrection and other crimes to various terms of imprisonment.
As stated by Agbor Nkongho, Cameroonian Human Rights Defendant, “The Military Tribunal in Yaounde-Cameroon has just sentenced Some members of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement (Mouvement pour la Renaissance du Cameroun) “MRC “Party. They include Prof.Alain Fogue, Bibou Nissack and Djoufo Ngabo to 7 years imprisonment. Others were sentenced between 5-6 years whilst 4 militants were sentenced to 1 year each.It should be noted that Prof Fogue is one of the leading members of the Party while Bibou Nissack is the spokesperson of Prof Maurice Kamto.”
