Anglophone crisis in Cameroon: Senator Henry kemende has been shot and killed in Bamenda, the North West Region
2 min readBarrister Henry Kemende was shot and killed by unknown gun persons in Bamenda, the North West Region of Cameroon on the 11 of January 2022. He was one of the outspoken Social Democratic Front (SDF), an opposition political party in Cameroon known for criticizing the government and calling for an end to the Anglophone armed conflict.
It is worthy to note that on the same day, a popular man known as Pa German Trench was killed in the same neighbourhood and a lady was also abducted in Nkwen as reported by Mimi Mefo Info
Following the incident, he was taken to PMI, a local hospital in Mile 2, Bamenda, where the security forces were stationed there to ensure order in the place.
Politicians, Lawyers have confirmed his death and have continued to express grief in the happenings in the country. As twitted by Barrister Akere Muna “1/11/22 the assassination of Barrister & Senator Henry Kemende, has wiped me out completely. Whoever are the barbarian(s) behind this savage act, it is clear killings are now becoming the new normal. We are staring straight into the abyss. Henry, dear brother and friend RIP.“
