AFCON2021 in Cameroon: Government mandates schools and workers in public sector to close early
1 min readTaking into consideration that Cameroonians are not turning out to watch eh football marches as expected, the President of Cameroon has through a communique signed by FOUDA Seraphin Magloire, Secretary-General at the Prime Minister’s Office mandated all public sectors to close work early during match days. Signed on 15 January 2022, this will permit them to watch football matches. the letter reads as follows.
On the instructions of the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister, Head of Government informs the national community that, during the days of the TOTAL ENERGIES AFCON 2021 matches: Schools and lectures will go from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.; Work will be from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
This exceptional measure, which will effectively apply to the public sector, from Monday 17 January 2022 to Friday 4 February 2022, aims at enabling Cameroonians to take an active part in this major continental event Yaounde, the 1 5_IAN 2022
