JOB DESCRIPTION
The role of the Education Coordinator is to ensure the proper implementation of the portfolio of education projects for which he/she is responsible with a particular focus on the implementation of the psychosocial support program “BLP -better learning program” in the South West and North West regions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Generic responsibilities
- Manage and supervise field project staff
- Adhere to and comply with NRC policies, guidelines and procedures
- Contribute to the development of strategy, proposals and advises on needs
- Manage and implement the project portfolio (activities, budget and project documentation) delegated by the supervisor in accordance with the proposals, strategies and donor requirements and ensuring optimal quality
- Encourage and make proposals for improvement of activities and any associated changes
- Liaise and collaborate with local authorities and other stakeholders
- Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy
Specific responsibilities
- Ensure regularity in the preparation of reports
- Provide guidance for the achievement of project results
- Contribute to all phases of the development of project proposals to be submitted to donors
- Supervise the activities in the field by ensuring that they are carried out properly, on time and within budget in collaboration with the supervisor
- In collaboration with the supervisor, plans, organizes, coordinates and monitors Education projects
- Support NRC partners technical and logistically during the projects implementation and reporting
- Contribute to the development of education and PSS/SEL strategy, Micro Log Frame, and
- Conduct education and PSS/SEL technical assessment and present recommendations
- Conduct specific education and PSS/SEL technical research and document findings and recommendations
- Support specific education and PSS/SEL technical indicators and mechanism for monitoring and evaluation
- Support the development of specific education and PSS/SEL technical guidance, tools and mechanism.
- Contribute to the development training modules and provide specific technical learning or/and training for partners
- Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards & principles within NRC and amongst beneficiaries served by NRC

QUALIFICATIONS
Professional competencies
- A minimum of 3 years of experience implementing and managing education projects
- Technical education expertise in education programming
- Experience coordinating with local government and community representatives
- Fluency in English both written and oral, knowledge in French is an added value
- Candidates with university degree, significant experience in the field of education, peacebuilding vocational education or youth programming
Context specific skills, knowledge and experience
- Knowledge of the humanitarian situation and implementation challenges
- Fluency in at least one local language of the project implementation area
- Experience liaising with NGO and government education stakeholders is an asset
- Very good knowledge of South-West and North-West Regions Context, use, habit and local language

• Beginning: July 2023
• Contract duration: 12 months, renewable depending on the availability of funds
