Her Innovation Cameroon donates text books to secondary schools in Buea, South West Region of Cameroon.
2 min readHer Innovation Cameroon (HIC), a Cameroonian based nongovernmental organization in Partnership with Books for Africa has donated books to secondary schools in Buea, the South West Region of Cameroon. The books are donated in as part of their campaign for school resumption in the North West and South West Regions where education has continuously been used as a weapon since 2016.
In that regards, they donated text books to the St. Sylvester Bilingual International College Muea on the 26th of July, and to St. Therese Bilingual Secondary School and CUIB Elementary Entrepreneurial Academy on 2 August 2023. The President of Her Innovation Cameroon, Futih Laura, recalled that the books donated will be use in school libraries.
According to Her Innovation Cameroon, quality education is an important factor that promotes innovation, entrepreneurship, technology and largely development. While relating to SDG 4 of the global goals, HIC reiterated that the initiated back to school campaign, aimed at donating books to different schools within the Buea municipality.
Another aim according to HIC is to promote and develop the spirit of research in children at an early age, encourage the habit of reading and to promote STEAM education, which covers all fields of life.
