Franco Bonghan is Co-Founder & of African Youths and Sustainable Development Roundtable, founder and Executive Director of Bright Light Projects as our keynote speaker.
Franco has contributed about 22 years of volunteering and professional leadership, mentoring, inspiring, and empowering youths as the roadmap to building resilient communities especially in sub-Saharan Africa. Franco is a regular speaker at the United Nations headquarters in New York on the U. N’s High Level Political Forums on Sustainable Development and African Affairs, reconfirming the Development of Africa as a Priority to the United Nations Systems. Providing practical and measurable solutions within the three core elements of suitability: Economic development, Social inclusion, and Environmental protection with the goal of fostering youth ownership for Africa’s future-ready leadership taking advantage of the demographic dividends of the continent of Africa.
In 2018, Franco Bonghan co-founded African Youths and Sustainable Development Roundtable, a platform for young African Entrepreneurs, Social Entrepreneurs to network, share knowledge and opportunities, and collaborate on key economic and social issues driving local action towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and Africa Union’s Agenda 2063
In 2018, Franco co-founded the #LearnTeachSDGs Initiative, a platform which has graduated over 1400 youths in Africa and beyond. The #LearnTeachSDGs program aims to teach the importance of supporting and implementing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which are crucial in creating a sustainable and inclusive future for our planet.
Franco Bonghan is equally the founder and Executive Director of Bright Light Projects (BLP), a Civil Society Non-Profit organization with a vision of providing actionable and transformative support to youths in the African continent through skills training as the cornerstone for Africa’s economic transformation with operations in Sierra Leone, Cameroon, Guinea Conakry, and Nigeria. In 2021, BLP was granted special Consultative Status by the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) acknowledging BLP’s contributions in shaping global development trends.
