Human Rights Organization calls for the release of Junior Ngombe, a 23 Year Old activist in Cameroon

The Centre for Human Rights in Africa (CHRDA), a Cameroonian Human Rights Organization has join other civil society organisation to call for unconditional release of JUNIOR NGOMBE who arrested and detained by the Cameroonian Forces of Law and Order. According to CHRDA in their statement published on 30th July 2024, the arrest and detention of Junior was arbitrary. Junoir Ngombe is a Young Cameroonian activist and founder “Jeunesse Debout Pour Le Changement”, who was on 25 July 2024, arrested from his Douala residence and transferred to the State Secretariat of Defense (SED) in Yaoundé as confirmed by family sources, CHRDA said in their statement.

The victim of this arrest has recently been popular in Cameroon for encouraging youths participation in elections amidst the upcoming elections. According to CHRDA, He has also been noted for his criticisms against the excesses of the government of Cameroon and his arrest is therefore seen to be linked to his activism.
