National Anti-Corruption of Cameroon (CONAC) Launches Nationwide Campaign against the Use of Fake Certificates in Cameroonian Universities.
2 min readTo combat against the production and use of fake certificates in Cameroon, the National Anti-Corruption of Cameroon (CONAC) has launch a campaign to educate/sensitized the population on the consequences of the production and use of fake certificates in Cameroon. The launching which took placed on 22 October 2024, at the University of Yaoundé 1 was coordinated by the Chairman of CONAC. The campaign targets students who resort to fabricating fake certificates to gain recruitment, especially into public service.
During the launch of the campaign, messages on the implications, of the use of fake certificates, which has become a major preoccupation in recruitment into the public service, in the country, were popularised.
According to the Chairman of CONAC, Rev. Dr Dieudonné, MASSI GAMS who was speaking during the Launching of the campaign at the University of Yaounde 1, the Chairman of CONAC, said students must strive for excellence and uphold integrity. He called on them to be active in the fight against corruption in the country in order to guarantee a better future.
In similar message to students, the rector of the University of Yaoundé 1, Prof. Remy Magloire ETOUA, warned against the fabrication of fake academic certificates and urged students and the University administration to guard against the practice which he described as a deterrent to professional and intellectual development in the Cameroon..
During the launch of the Campaign, the Anti-corruption bill boards bearing the campaign message were planted in strategic corners of the University of Yaoundé One campus as well as flyers were distributed to students. The campaign will continued to public and private university campuses across the country with sensitization and the putting up of anti-corruption boards.
