In a remarkable achievement, Barrister Tamfu Richard has been honored as the Best Human Rights Advocate in Africa for 2025 under the category of Law by the prestigious African organization, FORTY UNDER 40 Africa. The award ceremony which took place on 22 February 2025 is a testament to his unwavering dedication to human rights and his relentless pursuit of justice. Barrister Tamfu Richard has long been recognized for his tireless efforts in defending human rights across in Cameroon most especially the rights of the Anglophone minorities amid the ongoing armed conflict in the Northwest and Southwest Regions.

His efforts has brought justice to individuals and groups and has continued to put legal advocacy in Cameroon at the forefront. His commitment to upholding the rule of law and protecting the rights of the marginalized has earned him widespread respect and admiration.

The FORTY UNDER 40 Africa Awards aim to identify, honor, and celebrate a cross-section of the continent’s most influential and accomplished young leaders under the age of forty. These awards recognize individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, professional excellence, and a commitment to community service. I dedicate this award to TAMFU & Co. LAW FIRM team, the Cameroon Bar Association, my family and the marginalized Anglophone community in Cameroon whose rights I’ve been fighting since the outbreak of the senseless conflict in 2016. I promise to continue committing myself to Justice, the promotion of the rule of law and peace for a better Cameroon and the world at large.
