Cameroon: Bomb Attack Claims Lives of Soldiers in Muyuka Subdivision

In a devastating turn of events, as reported by major Cameroonian news blogs like Cameroon News Agency, Mimi Mefo Info has reported that two soldiers from the Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR) reportedly lost their lives, while three others remain in critical condition following an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attack. The fallen soldiers have been identified by Mimi Mefo info as Lieutenant Maliva, a native of Bova, and Corporal Ayissi. Disturbing footage from the scene reveals the devastating impact of the explosion, showing the severity of the injuries sustained. The tragic incident occurred today, May 5, approximately 1 km from the Bafia Military Base, near Ikata village in the Muyuka Subdivision.
The soldiers were reportedly returning from a mission in the area when their armored vehicle was struck by the explosive device implanted by the Separatists fighters. One of the Separatist factions, Ambazonia Defense Force through their communication channel have claimed responsibility for the attack.
