Muna’s candidacy for the 2025 presidential elections is bolstered by a coalition of several political parties and civil society organizations, including the Univers Party and the Union of the Populations of Cameroon (UPC) etc. This united front signifies a collective desire for political transformation and presents a formidable challenge to the long-standing incumbent regime

Akere Muna’s fight against corruption spans decades. He has one time been the former Vice-Chair of Transparency International, he has played a pivotal role in exposing and combating corruption in Cameroon and across Africa. His leadership in the International Anti-Corruption Conference Council and the African Union High-Level Panel on Illicit Financial Flows has cemented his reputation as a champion of integrity. His commitment to good governance and accountability remains a cornerstone of his political vision.

Muna’s 2025 presidential campaign has gained momentum, with endorsements from multiple political parties and civil society organizations. His candidacy under the Universe Party represents a coalition of reform-minded leaders seeking to challenge the status quo. His campaign promises institutional reform, economic development, and social justice, resonating with citizens frustrated by decades of entrenched political power.

Unlike traditional campaign strategies, Muna has embraced social media as a key tool for mobilization and outreach. His digital campaign strategy focuses on engaging young voters, fostering political discourse, and promoting his vision for a New Republic. By leveraging platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, he has positioned himself as a modern, accessible leader who understands the power of digital communication in shaping political narratives. In an era where digital platforms shape public discourse, Muna has adeptly utilized social media to engage with the electorate, particularly the youth. His online presence facilitates direct communication, policy dissemination, and mobilization, reflecting a commitment to transparency and inclusivity in his campaign.

A defining feature of Muna’s campaign is his commitment to youth empowerment. Recognizing that young people are the future of Cameroon, he has placed them at the center of his political strategy. His policies aim to create opportunities for education, employment, and civic engagement, ensuring that the next generation plays a critical role in shaping the country’s future. Recognizing that over 60% of Cameroon’s population is under 25, Muna has placed youth at the heart of his campaign strategy. He proposes a single five-year transitional mandate aimed at breaking the cycle of prolonged leadership and preparing the next generation for governance. His agenda includes reforms in education to emphasize practical skills and digital literacy, promotion of entrepreneurship, and policies that foster youth leadership

His anti-corruption stance, digital engagement, and youth-focused policies set him apart as a visionary leader. Whether he can unite the opposition and secure victory remains to be seen, but one thing is certain, his presence in the race is reshaping Cameroon’s political landscape
