Job Vacancy, Cameroon: ERuDeF is recruiting in the following positions; A Programme Coordinator, A Biodiversity Research Officer and A Socio-economist/Buea

About the organisation: Environment and Rural Development Foundation (ERuDeF) (ERuDeF | Environment and Rural Development Foundation | Saving Rainforests, Conserving Species, Impacting Lives) is an award-winning non-profit Cameroonian conservation organization established in 1999. ERuDeF has been working for over two decades across Cameroon and has significantly contributed towards restoring fragile Eco-system, regeneration of forest through plantation and agroforestry, conservation of biodiversity through wildlife habitat protection and protected area management, promoting environmental education, as well as empowering rural communities through innovative economic and livelihood development programmes

About the Job: The Environment and Rural Development Foundation (ERuDeF) with support from the Large Landscapes Conservation Initiative is developing a 15 year initiative in the East Region of Cameroon called the Eastern Cameroon Biodiversity Initiative (ECBI) to support the conservation of key conservation landscapes as well as the indigenous and local communities. With funding from the World Land Trust, African Conservation Foundation and the UNDP/GEF, two core projects are underway in the East Region to build ecological connectivity and to support the sustainable management of the Lobeke National Park, a World Heritage Site and the Deng Deng National Park
Within this context, the Chief Executive of ERuDeF is seeking to recruit suitable qualified candidates to fill the following positions in its Eastern Cameroon Biodiversity Initiative (ECBI), based in Bertoua, East Region of Cameroon. The positions are;

  1. A Programme Coordinator
  2. A Biodiversity Research Officer and
  3. A Socio-economist with an anthropology background
    Candidate Profiles
    i. Have a minimum of a master degree in the relevant position areas
    ii. The Programme Coordinator should have good knowledge and experience in both conservation and rural development
    iii. Have a minimum of 3 years experience in the relevant fields. Five years will be preferable
    iv. Candidates from the East Region shall be preferable
    v. Have experience and proof of peer-review publications
    vi. Computer literate
    vii. Good communication and team building skills
    viii. Should be bilingual and have a perfect mastery of French language ( written and spoken)
    ix. Should have NGO management experience and expertise
    x. The Programme Coordinator shall have good skills in financial and programme management as well as programme development
    xi. Should be able to work under pressure, fixed timelines and long hours
    Remuneration
    The remuneration for the positions are competitive and depends on the respective professional profiles
    Deadline of application
    The positions are open until filled and not later than the 30th of July 2021. Interviews shall be scheduled on the 30th of July 2021 in Buea and work shall start on the 1st of August 2021 in Bertoua
    d). The application file shall comprise of updated CV, a letter of motivation, the relevant diplomas, and /or certificates, attestation of experience and expertise, attestation from previous employers
    e). The place of work shall be Bertoua, Eastern Cameroon
    Project duration
    The programme duration is 5 years. Contracts shall be renewed annually based on performance
