Lesley Foundation and partners organized, National Public Health Symposium on the Role of Youth in Promoting Public Health in Cameroon

With focus on the role of youths in promoting public health, the Lesley Foundation successfully organized a two days symposium to drill youths on the importance of active participation when it comes to ensuring public health.

In partnership with other Civil Society Organizations including; American Corner University of Buea, Her Innovation Cameroon, the events which took place on the 6 and 7 of October 2022 saw at least 200 participants from across the country. The targeted participants were students, policy makers, medics, and paramedics in relation to public health and establish corporations. During the two day event, the participants were engaged with both keynote presentations and discussions on issues affecting public health in Cameroon.

The second day of the event was characterized with free screening of diseases such as HIV/AIDS, Malaria, Mental Health. The participants, grouped in various sectors were asked at the end of the event to present their recommendations on how we can better promote public health in the country.

According to the Founder of Lesley Foundation, every youths should be able to contribute in one way or the other towards ensuring the promotion of public health in Cameroon and beyond. He also thank his partners and participants for making the two days event successful.
