Job Description
Reach Out seeks a HEALTH PROMOTION TECHNICAL LEAD who will oversee all activities planning,
implementation and reporting in the field of health promotion in Cameroon for an anticipated
USAID funded project; Community Health Equity Through Systems Strengthening (CHESS).

Responsibilities
▪ The Health Promotion Technical Lead will serve as the subject matter expert for community engagement within CSO and other primary community groups and leaderships.
▪ S/he will assist the Deputy Program Director for Community Governance in strengthening local communities in delivering high impact and cost-effective health promotion activities.
▪ Provides technical assistance to develop and implement health communication strategies that fit the project goal and objectives.
▪ Responsible for sharing best practices and contribute to the knowledge base through participation in scientific forums and national technical working groups within the Ministry of Health, other networks.
▪ Participate in detailed strategy write-ups, work plans, and deliver quarterly reports and all other reporting requirements.
▪ Lead the development of all planned project SBC materials including designing, pretesting, review, approval as well as production in collaboration with all stakeholders.
▪ Work with partners to design communication and messaging content and therefore leverage their deep understanding of community perceptions, attitudes and practices.
▪ Work with partners to monitor and recommend adjustments in SBC activities through rigorous evaluations;

▪ A bachelor’s degree or higher in public health, community health, health economics, or related field
▪ A minimum of five (5) years of in community mobilization and health promotion.
▪ Experience in developing and implementing a behavioral change communication strategy, focusing on engagement and creating demand for community-based services.
▪ Guiding and providing technical assistance to project members of staff under the health programs department working on Social Behavioral Change Communications activities.
▪ Proven experience in developing behavioral change communication tools and materials.

Desirable
• Good team player (ability to work in a team)
• Proficient in Microsoft package of applications e.g. MS WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT, ACCESS, OUTLOOK EXPRESS)
• Good communication skills both oral and written.
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines.
• Takes initiative and is innovative.
• Excellent spoken and written English Language skills.
NB: This position is contingent upon award from USAID. Cameroon nationals are strongly
encouraged to apply and will be prioritized. This recruitment will be on a rolling basis.
