2 min readCHRDA in a 6page report have condemned the atrocities committed by Armed Separatists against civilians in the English Speaking Regions of Cameroon. The recent gruesome killing of a 35year old woman in Muyuka, the Southwest Region of the country is Unacceptable. we must respect humanity by doing to others what you like them to do to you and your brothers and sisters. Human Rights and Legal Research Centre joins Civil Society Organizations, Rights defenders, and all other stakeholders to urge both waring parties in the Anglophone Regions of Cameroon to ceased from hostilities and to embrace a negotiable settlement to the more than 3year armed conflict.
CHRDA writes in their Report “The armed separatists continue to perpetrate acts of violence against civilians, despite calls for a cessation to hostilities by the United Nations Secretary-General. They have ceaselessly kidnapped, tortured, maimed, and killed unarmed civilians. They also carry out deadly attacks against the military within civilian residential areas which often result in casualties. Equally, they forcefully recruit civilians. Between mid-May and early August 2020, CHRDA has documented numerous cases of violence committed against civilians by armed separatist fighters in the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon.”
