CHRDA report an upsurge in Rights Violations in Cameroon’s English Speaking Regions? Is it not time for the United Nations to help in the ongoing armed conflict?

The Centre for Human Rights and Democracy in Africa (CHRDA) has in their recent Human Rights Report accused the Cameroon military and Separatists fighters for gross human rights violations. The armed conflict which started in 2016 has claimed more than 3000 deaths and resulting to thousands of civilians being forcefully displace both internally and externally, While documenting the atrocities committed by both parties to the conflict, the CHRDA said that as of the month of August to September 2020, the military especially in Bamenda has caused violated the rights of civilians following the keep Bamenda Clean Campaign by the governor of Northwest. similarly, in preparation for the celebration of the Independence day of Southern Cameroons, the separatist fighters have continue to cause human rights abuses.
