US Election Results: Joe Biden emerges victorious while Donald Trump official Facebook and Instagram account block

Despite yesterday’s riot at the Capitol perpetrated by President Donald Trump supporters, the US Congress has formally certified President-elect Joe Biden’s as the winner of the 2020 presidential election in the United States 

On Wednesday the 6th of January 2021, President Donald Trump supporters breached the US Capitol forced lawmakers to abandon the House and Senate where they were deliberating on the electoral college votes, presiding over by Vice President Mike Pence 

Today 7 January 2021, Vice President Mike Pence announced that Joe Biden has won the Electoral College vote. The formal acknowledgment of these results is coming when at least four persons lost their lives during the riot in Capitol where Donald Trump supporters continuously rejected the election results while calling for a rerun in some states 

President Trump’s incitement comments on his social media handles have resulted in his Facebook and Instagram account block for at least two weeks until the peaceful transition of power to the President-elect, Joe Bidden. “The shocking events of the last 24 hours clearly demonstrate that President Donald Trump intends to use his remaining time in office to undermine the peaceful and lawful transition of power to his elected successor, Joe Biden,” Mark Zuckerberg said. 

After the proclamation of the United States presidential election results by Vice President Mike Pence today 7 January 2021, President Donald Trump accepted the election results and peaceful transition of power to Joe Biden for the first time.
