The United States Embassy in Cameroon is looking for a Housing Supervisor to be working in Yaoundé, the Centre region of Cameroon. The job is full time with a Salary of XAF FCFA11,957,655. Posted on 04/28/2021 and the deadline for the application is 05/12/2021.

Duties: Under the direct supervision of the Supervisory General Services Officer, the Housing Supervisor directs and coordinates all activities in the areas of housing, real property management, residential and embassy utilities (water, electricity, etc.), as well as is Contracting Officer Representative for the mobile device contract. Responsibilities include supervising a staff of three Housing Assistants, locating new properties, assisting in lease negotiations, drafting of leases and lease waivers and lease amendments.

Experience: At least four years of utilities or housing experience, including at least six months of supervisory experience in an international organization or large local institution with more than 50 employees is required.

Job knowledge: Must have a good knowledge of the local real estate market, laws and procedures, as well as prevailing leasing patterns and customs. Must have a good understanding of the organization and billing practices of local utility companies. Must have good knowledge of math and currency conversion. Skills and abilities: Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Must be able to develop and maintain a close working relationship with property owners, draft concise analytical documents and reports, work well with colleagues, deal tactfully and respectfully with our customers. Must demonstrate skill in negotiations and resolving disputes. Must be able to analyze utilities data effectively and detect errors, overbilling, discrepancies, and press for cost reduction of services. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and have a Class B Driver’s license. This may be tested.
