on 7 December 2021, unarmed persons believed to be armed separatists as reported by various media channels in Cameroon kidnapped Fon Yakum Kevin Teuvih of Bambalang. The fon double as the president of North West House of Chiefs.

Recently, the Ambazonian Defense Forces under the command of Dr Ayaba Cho announced that companies will be paying monies said to be liberation tax to their commanders on the ground. The faction of the Separatists had earlier claimed responsibility for the kidnapping of CAMWATER manager in Bamenda.

This particular abduction is carried out, in General, No Pity’s village of the North West Region, one of the most wanted Ambazonian General by Cameroon government and the media platforms have alleged that the fon is in the keeping of General No Pity as reported by Cameroon News Agency. According to Cameroon News Agency, “Sources say Ambazonia commander, No Pity, and his boys have abducted Fon Kelvin Yakum of Bambalang, on Tuesday, December 7, 2021. He is the President of the North West House of Chiefs. He was picked up in his palace as he prepared to launch the annual traditional dance.”

According to Mimi Mefo Info Media reports have confirmed that Fon Yakum Kevin Teuvih was kidnapped on the 7 of December by separatist fighters from his palace when he had planned to set out for the 84th edition of the Cultural Festival of the Mbaw Yakum People dubbed “Sha’atang.”

Sha’atang, which is an annual event had not been held for close to 4 years due to the Anglophone crisis. according report from Mimi Mefo Info, “Unconfirmed sources have claimed that a sum of 20 million FCFA has been demanded by the separatists for the release of the Fon of Bambalang.”
