The Centre for Human Rights and Democracy in Africa (CHRDA) is inviting community leaders in the North West and South West Regions to apply for a training and mentorship program on supporting Women’s participation in conflict resolution and political representation.
The training is part of the ongoing project that CHRDA is implementing to build the capacity of community leaders and political leaders/aspirants especially youths and women to participate in conflict resolution efforts, support social cohesion within their communities, and promote citizen engagement in community decision-making.
Criteria
· Be a representative of a civil society organization working on women’s participation in public affairs and conflict resolution or be a political aspirant with a track record.
· Be a resident in the North West or South West Region
· Must be between the ages of 18 years to 50 years
· Be able to participate in all the trainings between 2023 and 2024
· Be able to participate in the mentorship program with professionals working on women’s political participation and conflict resolution efforts in Cameroon which will run for 12 Months.
· Female applicants will be prioritized
Benefits of the training.
During the training program, participants will gain knowledge on
· Gender mainstreaming in relation to political participation and conflict resolution,
· Non-violent communication and advocacy techniques,
· How to conduct community need assessment and identify key stakeholders in the course of developing advocacy strategies.
· Support from CHRDA to ten groups to organize community events on issues relating to the promotion and protection of Human Rights, the rule of law, women’s participation, and conflict resolution in line with the ongoing crisis in the North West and South West Regions.
· Support the participants to host at least two ‘Have Your Say’ dialogue forums in their communities.

He has intensive experience in strategic communications for Civil Society Organizations, campaign and advocacy, and social issues.
