Career Opportunity: Apply Now for a three Month Fully Funded Africa Fact-checking Fellowship in Cameroon

The Africa Fact-checking Fellowship (#AFFCameroon) is designed to track and map viral trends on social media related to major thematic issues in Cameroon.

  • It aims to promote fact-checking,
  • data journalism and digital rights to journalists, bloggers, content creators and community leaders in Africa.
  • This three-month funded program aims to equip fellows with the skills and tools they need to tackle the current challenges of spreading fake news in their countries of operation.
  • It also aims to select future trainers in fact-checking and the fight against hate speech. Through its various cohorts, #AFFCameroon aims to put seasoned professionals on the ground to make an effective contribution to building and consolidating peace by combating disinformation and hate speech.
  • The program is based on a blended learning model that uses plenary sessions, webinars, practical lessons, peer-to-peer learning and practical work in the field.
  • Fellows will have access to a rich set of online tools and resources as well as a network of experts and professionals from around the world.
