The Fulbright Specialist Program is a program of the Department of State that provides a unique opportunity for institutions across the globe to host leading U.S. academic professionals. Specialists and host institutions work together to implement a project ranging from two to six weeks. Host institutions design project goals and activities that will exchange knowledge and promote long-lasting collaboration between individuals and institutions around the world.
Host institutions may design projects in one of the following priority disciplines: Cyber Security and IT; Disaster Response; Entrepreneurship; Environmental Sustainability; Media Literacy/Countering Disinformation; Public Administration; Public/Global Health; STEM (Science Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), and supporting the strengthening of democratic processes and the rule of law.
Specific project activities can include, but are not limited to delivering seminars or training, consulting on faculty or workforce development, developing academic or training curricula/materials, providing lectures at the graduate or undergraduate level, engaging in strategic or institutional planning, conducting needs assessments or evaluations.
The Fulbright Specialist Program is a competitive process. Proposals will be reviewed on a rolling basis by the U.S. Embassy. Up to 4 proposals can be selected every fiscal year.
The most competitive proposals will demonstrate clear, realistic goals and objectives; focus on one of the priority areas outlined above and demonstrate the importance of the project to the Cameroonian context at large.
Interested institutions are invited to submit a proposal through the online application platform https://fulbrightspecialist.worldlearning.org/ following the procedure described in the “Host Institution Application Instructions” no later than January 31, 2025.
