The Africa Coalition for Research & Communication on Abortion (ACORCA) proudly launches its Small Grants Programme for early-career scholars advancing abortion research in Africa.
Who is Eligible?
Early-career PhD researchers (completed in last 5 years)
Current PhD candidates at dissertation stage
Affiliation with African universities or research institutes
Research must focus on abortion in Africa
Grant Details
Total Grant: $3,500 USD over 4 months
– 70% disbursed at start
– 30% upon progress report
Covered Costs:
– Data collection & travel
– Software subscriptions
– Secondary data access
– Report writing
Note: No equipment or institutional overheads will be funded.
Mentorship & Capacity Support
Each grantee will be paired with an ACORCA advisor, in addition to their home institution supervisor. They’ll also benefit from webinars, toolkits, writing workshops, and peer reviews.
