Agbor Balla, Regional and International initiative should be relaunch to aid bring warring parties to negotiations table in Cameroon
1 min readBarrister Agbor Nkongho popularly known as Agbor Balla is a human rights defender, the founder of CHRDA and a freedom fighter. He has been fighting for the respect of Human Rights and the Rule of Law since the 1990s to date. He has continuously condemned human rights violations/abuses in all its form and promotes initiatives that can bring justice to the Anglophone Cameroonians and Cameroon in general. The Human Rights and Legal Research Centre support any initiative that can bring justice and peace in the Anglophone Regions of Cameroon. He wrote on his official Facebook Page: “The current crisis in the North West and South West Regions in Cameroon has caused untold hardship to the people. Ten months since the end of the Major National Dialogue, there’s nothing concrete to show in the direction of peace. It is now time for National, regional and International initiatives to be relaunched with a clear objective to bring on the table the various warring parties in a bid to seek a negotiated settlement to ongoing war. We need Peace!”

I think La republic will continue calling for dialogue, not because they wanna remedy the situation, but because they are still making strategies to making the anglophones socum to their terms. Negotiation at this point is la republic’s sheme to buy time to strategize more havoke. So if there are other options to attaining peace, I think we begin considering them.
